Joy, I saw that you were standing on the street corner holding signs for an hour on Sunday afternoon… for LIFE! Why do you do this and do you really think that it makes a difference?

Why do we do this? Because LIFE is a precious gift from Creator God and more than 31,850 babies were reported “legally killed” in NC in 2020! Those who believe that a baby is a part of the mother’s body and therefore can be killed at the mother’s request are loudly proclaiming their belief that they have the RIGHT to kill babies! We have been silent long enough.

My personal reasons: look at my children. That’s all for today.

Do I believe that this makes a difference? To be honest; I’ve wondered if people standing on the corner holding signs influences anyone at all – and I have discovered that it does! One gentleman stopped by to speak to us the last time we were out there. He told us that for many years he just drove past people like us and never even read what our signs say, but then one day out of curiosity, he stopped, he looked and he read. He said the message on the sign got his attention, he went home and researched and yes; he changed his opinion about abortion! He now stands for LIFE.

We live in a society where information is easily accessible: information that supports whatever you want it to support and too many of our young and not so young alike are just accepting what they are being told instead of stopping, researching and discovering the truth. The truth is that LIFE is valuable. A mother carries another life within her – attached to her – but the baby is NOT her body.
